Aana is a word in Indian language. It means an elephant. I do not know whether you have been to Evason Resorts before but when I first time did step my feet into AANA, I smelt something about Evason. I myself do not know whether you will like it or not. Back to the resort, actually this resort is owned by the family who owns and operates Banpu Koh Chang. Deluxe room is in the low-rise building and there are some villas with (30-35 square meter by my eyes) with thatched roof. If you are to stay here, I would recommend to book deluxe room.
Opened in the late 2005, Aana has positioned itself to be a five stars luxury resort on Koh Chang with its being priced and description in the resorts fact sheet. For this year, price is decreased as the resort has done repositioning itself. To be a five star, in my sense, there have none of resorts in Koh Chang to match the category. For Aana to be honest, you can not walk yourself to the beach but the resort provide a private boat service-using old fashioned long tail boat paddled by a resort staff down the small river to the mouth of the estuary which is about 300 meters away.
The resort meets and is about the average standard for Koh Chang. Design and concept are 4 stars at a push. For the location, from here to white sand beach, it is about 10 min-drive. One thing to be mentioned, if you are to travel with people at age over 50, I would not recommend this resort as raised wooded walkways are around the resort and they may easily fall down.
